The Story

Behind the Story

“The perfect pit stop is something you hear, not something you see…

…the team want to hear two noises, no more than that, with the four wheel guns firing twice in perfect unison, as the old wheels come off and the new wheels go on. If there isn’t a gun out of phase, or a lag from one corner, you know you’ve got a good one.”

The modern pit stop, has to be one of the most awe-inspiring sights in sport today . A team, upwards of 20 individuals, moving in mind-blowing synchronization, changing four wheels, in under three seconds or, on a really good day, in under two.”

Louisa Dellabarca

Louisa acquired her passion and fascination for high-performance teamwork working in the high-pressure, high-stakes world of world of Formula One. It was here, as Account Director for an international sponsorship agency that Louisa honed her communication and mediation skills, leading project teams to deliver complex hospitality programs to thousands, under the constant pressure of the ever-shifting F1 landscape. It was in this environment that she was up close to some of the most impressive examples of high-performance teamwork on earth today, whilst herself being required to mobilise teams in a similar way. Some years later it was these experiences that fuelled her desire to become a business coach and develop her interest and passion for human potential.

In 2008 Louisa enrolled on the MA In Coaching and Mentoring at Oxford Brookes University, graduating in 2013. She has been working as a business coach in Auckland New Zealand ever since moving from the UK with her family in 2014. In The Room was launched in 2019 and represents the culmination of her life’s experiences and professional interests, focusing on using conflict, challenge and crisis as tools to foster greater connection in business in order to create stronger, more resilient more impactful organisations.
